Pan-Fried Asparagus

1 tsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp coarse salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb fresh asparagus spears, trimmed

Add olive oil to pan over medium-low heat. Add butter and garlic. Saute garlic but do not let it burn! Add asparagus along with salt & pepper. Saute until tender and remove from heat.
